Support Tanya Ishikawa in Returning to City Council !
Tanya Ishikawa, 43, has served Federal Heights for two years on City Council and was previously on the Planning & Zoning Commission for one year. Her decisions are community-oriented, research-based and future-focused.
Tanya is an award-winning professional writer and small business owner, providing stories and content for newspapers, newsletters, magazines, business correspondence, web sites, and TV/film. She is also the mother of a 4-year-old son, and VERY active community volunteer. Her activities range from producing a monthly public access TV show with an all volunteer crew to serving on nonprofit boards and doing errands for senior citizens.
Tanya is a member of the Green Party of Colorado, supporting its efforts to develop and elect candidates with a focus on a sustainable future - ecologically, socially and financially. She is a member of the Adams-Jefferson Greens. However, her position and candidacy on City Council are nonpartisan, and she continues to make decisions based on her community's needs and not a partisan philosophy.
Tanya decided to serve on the Federal Heights City Council, because she would like to be part of planning for a positive future and building collaboration in the community. The diversity of values and backgrounds in our city and nation makes governing and representing the general public more complex. But, her multicutural experiences and natural interest in various issues and ideas can help bring solutions and resolutions to public policy.
